Selfish World
When dreams are being broken and people broken too,
No time to spend with family, microwave meals will have to do
Double shifts are normal, no parent's kiss goodnight
For mommy's working late and daddy's plane in flight
TV blaring loudly, tasteless pictures flash
No one stops the fighting, when abandoned siblings clash
They do not know the difference, they were never taught
Absence of good role-models, their parents presence could have brought.
When daddy's finally home, he leaves for a few drinks
Because his old bar buddies, are more important, he does think
A nagging wife and children, are just a heavy weight
He's a hard working
